"There was a governor on the heating system. The heating unit was next to the ceiling (heat rises) so it was much cooler down on the floor where we were. It was COLD while we were there. We called for maintenance and he assured us he couldn't fix it and that it was indeed inadequate. Then we got a message there would be no maid service during the holiday, but they would bring us clean towels. We checked out after the first night and found a different hotel to stay in where the heat worked and we had the services we were paying for."
